Below are Video's from my first punting workout of 2009. Filmed on 2/14/09, punting with a 10+ mph wind. Notice the steep 70+ degree angle of the ball leaving my foot on the 5.1 second 55 yard punt. This punt would have been a 5.3 to 5.5 second punt against the wind!

This

the

After 3 hours of

3rd

was a
5.41 sec 47

In
1997, I
recorded a
5.3

3rd punt
ever
in

and a 5.4
sec.
hang

of
punts.
NFL Punters have a low % of fair
catches
and
a high return
for
TD's
statistics
because
of little
hang
time ie:
3.5-5.0
seconds, and
kick the
ball
too far
for their
coverage. Even
the
higher hang time
punters kick the
ball
too far for their
coverage.
NFL punters now have to kick an
end-
over-
end
or punt in
order to get
an inside
the 20,
instead
of using
high hang
time
punter that
can
hang it
high
every
time
between 35-50
yards. Not
only
this, if I had to
punt inside the 20, with that field position,
it
would be
the
best time to
do a
fake-punt.
Punt Returners are scared to
catch my
punts. I
have had a
history of
creating
turnovers on
muffed punts
becuase
of my high hanging punts that drop straight down.
I can hit the Rafters on fields such as
Ford Field in Detroit, who's roof is 193 feet high, but
the rafters are at about 130 feet. Dr. Z quoted Scifres at
Ford Field being able to come close to the rafters, but never
did. Scifres punts a 5.8 second hang time at 70 yards net, my
punts would be 5.8 seconds at 50 yards net. From
research on Google, it takes a 5.75 second hang time punt at
50 yards net or less, to hit the rafters, speakers, flags,
tv screens and other objects that are hanging from the underside of
the Stadiums' roof.
